The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is an English language test designed specifically to measure the everyday English skills of people working in an international environment. Since 1979, organisations around the world have used the TOEIC test to hire, place and promote employees. The test also allows universities to better prepare students entering the international workforce.
TOEIC test questions simulate real-life situations that are relevant to the global workplace. Score reports provide accurate, meaningful feedback about a test-taker’s strengths and weaknesses, along with a description of the English-language strengths typical of test-takers performing at various score levels.
The TOEIC Listening and Reading test is a paper-and-pencil, multiple-choice assessment. Test takers listen and read in English and give their responses to the questions. The test does not require specialised knowledge or vocabulary beyond that of a person who uses English in everyday life and work activity.
