Instructor Profiles

Gooi Poh Hong is LHoL’s Programme Director with over 30 years of English teaching and learning development experience. Her work experience ranges from being a classroom teacher in secondary schools in Malaysia, to being the head of various proficiency English programmes in a leading university in Malaysia. Prior to her appointment with LHoL, she was teaching proficiency English courses in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) catering to undergraduates, postgraduates as well as corporate learners. She has also taught intensive English courses to local and foreign students with very little background and exposure to the English language. Poh Hong has also been actively involved in developing teaching materials for a variety of proficiency English courses offered in the university. She is most enthusiastic about classroom pedagogy and has written story books and workbooks for pre-schoolers as well as activity books for primary school children.

Intan Darlina Muhammad is one of LHoL’s Lead Instructors who is passionate about teaching and working with people. Darlina graduated with Honours from the University of Kent, Canterbury, England with a Bachelor of Arts in English Studies. She achieved the inaugural prestigious award of Anugerah Dekan Matrikulasi ESL from Universiti Malaya back in 2000 and 2001. Darlina is not new to the community as you may remember her delivering the English News Bulletins for Traxx.fm as well as news and traffic updates for Time Highway Radio. In her free time, Darlina masters corporate ceremonies and state functions as well as delivers the Parliament Report for Dewan Negara and Dewan Rakyat. Darlina is currently an Enterprise Risk Management Practitioner and an Associate Trainer for Emergency Response/ Business Continuity in the airline industry.

Susanne Buetikofer is one of our instructors.
She has over a decade of experience in the travel and hospitality industry and is recognised for her sophistication and savoir-faire. Susanne is also an extremely passionate and enthusiastic instructor who has worked with frontline and customer service teams during her tenure in a national full service carrier for Switzerland and a luxury brand hotel in New York City, United States. In Swissair, she spent many years in Customer Service where she worked on developing good communication and presentation skills with her teams. In the Swissôtel The Drake she worked as a Front Office Manager, and constantly promoted her role to train and build confidence in her team in reinforcing work ethics and value systems that prioritised quality customer service. In the latter part of her career, after having managed a Swiss Hotel in Koh Samui, Thailand she then returned to Switzerland and undertook further training to become a Human Resources Specialist.
Susanne worked for several years for the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs and conducted many recruitment and human resources related workshops during this time. Susanne graduated with Honours from the Hotel Management School of Geneva, Switzerland. She is currently living with her family in Taiwan and is completing her Master Certificate in Strategic Human Resources Management at the Michigan State University, United States. Susanne is well travelled and is fluent in English, French and German.
